We must all take certain steps to prevent bone and joint problems. See some of them:
- Always maintain a correct posture - when walking, sitting or standing. When sitting, keep the full length of your back against the chair or sofa.
- Avoid carrying too much weight or carrying heavy objects on only one side of the body. This is true when you are carrying, for example, a backpack full of notebooks and books.
- Eat properly by trying to keep your weight within the proper limits; Being overweight can lead to various problems such as spinal overload.
- Beware of bumps, falls or sudden movements: You may fracture your bones or suffer joint dislocation.
- Practice physical exercises regularly, always with expert guidance.

It is the abnormal increase in the lumbar curve leading to an accentuation of normal lumbar lordosis (hyperlordosis), as shown in the figure below. Weak abdominal muscles and a bulging abdomen are risk factors. Characteristically, back pain in people with increased lumbar lordosis occurs during activities involving lumbar spine extension, such as standing for a long time (which tends to accentuate lordosis). Trunk flexion usually relieves pain, so the person often prefers to sit or lie down.
It is defined as an abnormal increase in the posterior concavity of the spine. The most important causes of this deformity are poor posture and insufficient physical fitness. Diseases such as ankylosing spondylitis and senile osteoporosis also cause this type of deformity.
It is the lateral curvature of the spine, which can be structural or non-structural. The progression of curvature in scoliosis depends to a large extent on the age at which it begins and the magnitude of the curvature angle during the adolescent growth period, during which the progression of the curvature increase occurs at a greater rate. Physical therapy using stretching and breathing are essential for improving the condition.
