Food chain


Ecological balance depends directly on the interaction, exchanges and relationships that living beings establish with each other and with the environment.

Beings breathe, live on the ground or in the water, obtain food, bask in the warmth of the sun, shelter, reproduce, die, decompose, and so on. In these processes, air, soil, water, and sunlight interact intensely with plants, animals, and other living things. This interaction ensures the dynamic life of the biosphere. The Amazon, for example, houses a rich biological diversity that includes approximately 20% of all species on the planet. This is closely related to the incidence of sunlight in the equatorial region, the abundance of water and the soil moisture and nutrient maintenance system.

Getting Energy to Live

All living beings need energy to produce the substances necessary for the maintenance of life and reproduction. Living things get energy basically in two ways: chlorophyllatethrough the energy of the sun, and the non-chlorinatedfrom the chlorophyllate feed.

The food chain is a sequence that shows who feeds from whom.

For example:

The human being (non-chlorophilized living) when eating a steak, is chewing the meat of an ox (non-chlorophilized living) that fed on grass (be chlorinated). Grass gets the energy to grow from sunlight in a process called photosynthesis, and for this reason is called producer. Non-chlorophilized organisms are called consumers. Look at the scheme below:
