Genealogy - Or family tree or pedigree. It is the study of the genetic characteristics of a particular family.
Genome - (1) is the simple set of chromosomes of a cell. is the set formed by only one chromosome of each type in the species studied. In humans the genome is made up of 23 different chromosomes. (2) Genome project, denomination given the task of decoding human DNA accepted by several associated nations.
Genes - DNA segment containing instructions capable of encoding a protein.
Giminosperm - Tracheophyta division class, characterized by forming floral reproductive structures (strobiles) and bare seeds (no fruit); eg, pines, cypress and crests.
Gyno - Set of carpels (pistils) that form the female reproductive tract in gminosperm flowers.
Gynecomastia - Abnormal development of the mammary glands in men. This development should only be considered abnormal if it prevails for a long time. It is common for adolescents to have moderate gynecomastia, without pointing out any abnormalities in their development.
Tadpole - Larval form of amphibians, which presents aquatic life and gill breathing.
Glycocalix - A layer of polysaccharides that lines an animal cell externally.
Glycogen - Polysaccharide synthesized from glucose assembly and used by vertebrate animals as a reserve.
Glycolysis - Early stage of glucose breakdown process, with energy production in the form of ATP molecules.
Golgi - Organelle present in eukaryotic cells; It consists of vesicles, tubules and flat sacs. It works in the collection and agglomeration of substances manufactured by the cell.
